PERSONAL TRIPS

Yosemite 06-22-01 through 06-24-01

My solitary camping trip to Yosemite was not rewarded with very many species, most especially the Gray-crowned Rosy Finch, but maybe next time... The best bird was a Dusky Flycatcher that appeared at 10,000' and allowed close examination. I'm now quite sure I can distinguish this drab bird by both voice and appearance from the very similar Hammond's Flycatcher. I'm scheduled to return to Yosemite in three weeks, so perhaps I can search again for leftover birds. Wildflowers were pretty beautiful, and the weather was splendid and warm.
