At about 10:15 am today one of the Pectoral Sandpiper was still foraging in the large shallow pond on the right hand side of the entrance road going into the EEC. Also present were 4 Lesser Yellowlegs and 2 Greater Yellowlegs.

Yesterday I had my first-of-season Hermit Thrush on Emerson Street in Palo Alto near my office. When I
parked my car this morning, the bird was calling again from the same bushes it had the day before. Nice to
have it back!
Today during lunch I walked around Byxbee Park. Both Lesser and Greater Scaup were in the channel leading toward the dam. My first-of-season Bufflehead waspresent too. Many Green-winged Teal and Northern Shovelers were in the shallow water outside the dam. A Loggerhead Shrike was perched on the wooden posts on the hillside.
